FUTURE SO BRIGHT...

I dare somebody to say that I don't have the two cutest boys in the whole world! I love it when they come to see me at work--so does the whole office. I can hear them from the front door all the way to my office saying, "see daddy, see daddy, see daddy". It's the greatest thing ever. They come in, give me hugs and kisses, tear up the office and then they're gone. It's the best part of my day!

MORMON HELPING HANDS

Kept meaning to put these pics up and never did. We got to make another hurricane relief trip this year. Gustav wan't near as bad as Katrina, but don't tell that to the folks in this neighborhood. This is by far the hardest work I've ever done--but also some of the most fun and rewarding weekends I can remember. You forge such a great bond with the guys in your work crew. And this year we really roughed it--no Dan Stansel to rent a trail with AC for us to sleep in. Just a gym floor and a fan in the corner run off a generator--not to mention ice cold showers on the sidewalk which are always a blast.

Catchin up

So it has been awhile since I have posted, but I will try to catch up a little. Halloween was great. Cole dressed up as a cowboy for school, a crocodile wrestler with Joshua, and a blue clone trooper. Parker on the other hand was barely able to keep half of an elmo costume on. But we had fun. When Joshua took Parker trick-or-treating, he finally got the hang of saying trick or treat, then didn't stop. He would say trick or treat, or thank you all night long. It was pretty funny. This picture of Parker with his backpack is when we were on our way to church. He loves to wear his backpack anywhere we go, but especially when we take Cole to school and Co
le has his on. They are getting to be good friends and it is fun to see them go off together and play. Cole was making a thankful owl at school and his teacher asked him what he was thankful for. He said Parker. He adores him and I think the feeling is mutual. How fun it is to have two boys close enough that they can be this way. What fun ages these are!

Guess I'll give this a whirl.

Couldn't let Amanda have all the fun with this blogging thing. Have you ever seen something so cute in your whole life?! Parker is our Mr. Naked. Amanda is quick to point out that he is just like his daddy. This was his umpteenth time this day to strip down to his birthday suit. Luckily we ckecked on him on our way to bed--and this is what we found. He is a handful to say the least. He is either the happiest kid in the world, or he's letting you know that he's not. There is no inbetween with Parker. And Amanda lied. This is the picture of Cole on his first day of school. Look at that smile--that boy ought to be in magazines! (I'm not biased at all am I?) Both of my boys are in daddy's boys phases. I never thought that would happen, but they sure love to hang out with their dad. It's the greatest feeling in the world. Cole and I are going to the Travellers game tonight. Parker will be jealous. He'll cry when we leave and it will break my heart--but at least he's at a point where he cares enough to miss me.

Cole's first day of school, August 18, 2008 and Rainy Day Fun

And this is what we have been doing with our rainy days, trying on sunglasses and taking pictures. Aren't these boys so cute!

This is our sweet Cole on his first day of school a couple of week ago. I can't believe I have a child going to preschool, but as you can see, he is so excited.

Rain, Rain, and More Rain

Okay, so we have really been hit here with this hurricane weather. I have never seen it rain this long, this constantly. We went to the library today after we picked up Cole from school, and I could tell that my poor boys have maybe been cooped up in the house a little too much. Parker ran from one end of the library to the other, with his big brother chasing him and laughing. They had a great time, but all of the other patron were grateful we kept our time there short. Cole loves school, but is having a hard time leaving me when I drop him off. He gets clingy and cries, and I hate to leave him. But he loves it once he is there, and even started learning Spanish today. I said, "What Spanish words did you learn?" Cole said "Hola amigos." He just kept repeating that all day long and said it means hello. Such a sweet boy. Parker continues to love life and continues, no matter what we try, to get naked at any possible chance. Last night we put him to bed in his usual, pants with a onesie buttoned over them. Well, he was undressed when I checked on him later, so I got him dressed and then he woke up this morning and before we could get him out of bed, he got those clothes off again. I have a feeling he is going to have a lot of fun with life! He is really starting to talk a lot and loves to put on a good dancing show anytime anyone is willing to watch. It is fun to have these two boys close and such good friends.

Sweet Parker

My sweet, sweet boy. This is the face we love to see. I have never seen a child enjoy musci so much. He is in a trance when we have music playing. Also, he loves "Goodnight Moon". As you can seen, he knocked his tooth out when he fell off the bench at Grandma's house. We had to go to the dentist, where they sedated him, so they could get the rest of the tooth out. We took his blanket and Goodnight Moon to the dentist with us. As he was getting sleepy, we would read the book and he loved it. Then he would fight going to sleep and get up and run around, stumbling along the way because of the medicine. Ever since then, he loves this book. When he is upset or tired and can't calm down, I can say the words from the book and he immediately calms down. Then we found a goodnight moon video at the library which he absolutely loves. He will come up and ask "gnight moon?" And then he runs to the TV. He never does anything slowly. It is always run, run, run, until he crashes in bed.

1st time blog

I started this blog to record all of the wonderful memories that we are creating. I figured maybe this would work better for me than the pen and paper for a while, so here goes. Our family reunion is about to get into full swing. Aaron and Haley are here, and the rest of the family comes tomorrow. It should be fun. Today we are going to Cole's preschool to register and meet his teacher and see his classroom. When did he become old enough? Every time I see a back to school commercial, I get so sad. Part of it is end of summer, the other part is I just don't feel ready. But he is so excited. He has his Batman backpack and his wallet and is ready to go. It will be fun to have some time for me and Parker to have together. Speaking of Parker, he is such a fun child! His latest thing, which isn't really fun for us, it to be completely naked while he sleeps. It doesn't matter what we put on him, he will get it off. He seems very determined to do whatever he wants to do, which should be interesting as he grows up. But these boys are so fun. I just love the ages they are right now. Anyway, more later.
